Your Day-to-Day Impact

Morning Shift

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ AOD and health needs, working within a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care
  • Lead engaging psychoeducation sessions focused on harm reduction, relapse prevention, and personal empowerment
  • Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other professionals to develop tailored care plans for each client
  • Support clients with evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care, helping them on their journey to recovery

Afternoon Shift

  • Review and adjust care plans in collaboration with your team, ensuring the best possible outcomes for each client
  • Monitor clients’ withdrawal symptoms, making real-time adjustments to care plans as needed
  • Administer medications, perform safety audits, and carry out mental health screenings to provide holistic care
  • Use the ISBAR framework to provide clear, effective clinical handovers for smooth team transitions

Overnight Shift

  • Create a calm, structured environment that helps clients rest and manage sleep or anxiety issues
  • Perform wellness checks and ensure client safety throughout the night, offering peace of mind to both patients and team members
  • Handle emergency situations with confidence, using your de-escalation skills when needed
  • Contribute to the morning transition with detailed, accurate documentation

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

We’re looking for a compassionate Registered Nurse (AHPRA) who has at least 1 year of post-graduation experience and is eager to work in the mental health and addiction space. 

You should have:

  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • A passion for addiction recovery, mental health care, and harm reduction strategies
  • The ability to think critically and manage both mental and physical health challenges
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Comfort working with a rotating roster of morning, afternoon, and night shifts

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in AOD, mental health, or trauma-informed care
  • Experience in venepuncture, IV cannulation, and non-pharmacological withdrawal management
  • Training in MARAM risk assessment, aggression management, or mental health first aid
