Clinical governance, quality, risk and infection prevention roles need a nurse who knows how care is really delivered and can still hold the line on standards. Get the hire wrong and it shows up in incidents, complaints and accreditation.
These roles get advertised under Risk, Quality or Compliance, so the nurses who'd be best at them never see the ad. The applicants you do get often know the frameworks but have never led a clinical team, or they're strong clinicians who have never written a policy that people actually follow.
I look for the nurse who has done both: changed how a team works without the authority to make them, and written it down so it stuck. You can read more about what clinical governance roles involve.
Send me the brief or book a 30 minute call
One brief call, a shortlist within 21 days, usually around two weeks, and a written update every Friday. Senior searches can take longer, and if yours will, I tell you before I start.
Senior and executive appointments, such as a head of clinical governance, are 18 per cent of first year base salary plus super, plus GST, payable within seven days of the person starting. Standard appointments are 15 per cent of first year base salary plus super, plus GST, payable within seven days of the person starting. I confirm which applies when you brief me, and either way you can pay in full or spread the fee over six months interest free. Every placement comes with a six month guarantee: if they leave in that time, I run the search again from scratch at no charge. If the search fails, it costs nothing.
If you're already advertising, keep your ad running. I'll screen those applicants for you at no cost.
Not sure what to pay? My nurse salary guide covers what these roles are advertised at and how to build an offer a nurse will accept.

Yes. Infection prevention roles sit under Quality in most organisations, which is exactly why the right nurses rarely find them. I go to them directly.
