A good clinical nurse educator does two jobs at once. They hold their own with experienced clinicians, and they can stand in front of a room and teach. Finding someone who can do both is harder than it looks, and most of the good ones aren't looking at job boards.
If you're a healthcare supplier, a device company or a private provider, your educator role probably sits under Education or Sales on Seek. Nurses search under Nursing. So the people you want never see the ad, and the people who do apply are often from sales or corporate training with no clinical background.
That's the gap I work in. I know where these nurses are, what makes them move, and how to talk to them about a role that takes them away from the bedside. You can read more about what a clinical educator role involves.
I take a full brief, usually over a 30 minute call. You'll have a shortlist within 21 days, usually around two weeks, and most roles are placed within two to four weeks. You get a written update from me every Friday.
My fee is 15 per cent of first year base salary plus super, plus GST, payable within seven days of your new starter beginning. If they leave within six months, I'll run the search again from scratch at no charge.
I work exclusively and only take on six live roles at a time, so your search gets proper attention. If I miss the shortlist date, exclusivity lapses and you owe nothing.
A healthcare supplier needed nurse educators to train hospital teams on infection control. Their ads kept attracting sales applicants with no clinical background. I found experienced nurses who'd been teaching informally for years and were ready to step off the ward, and filled three educator roles.
Not sure what to pay? My nurse salary guide covers what these roles are advertised at and how to make an offer a nurse will accept.

Every placement has a six month guarantee. If the person leaves within six months, I run the search again from scratch at no charge.
From a private list of nurses who have told me they want to work away from the bedside, and from a community of them I run myself. Your role goes to that list in the first week, before it is advertised anywhere.
