A patient support program lives or dies on the nurse delivering it. Patients stay on treatment when they trust the person on the other end of the phone or in their home. You need nurses who are clinically sound, calm under pressure and comfortable working independently, often remotely.
Why it's a different kind of hire
These roles sit with pharma companies, specialist providers and program vendors, not hospitals. The nurses who'd be brilliant at them often don't know the roles exist. They're working in community, chronic disease, oncology or specialist clinics, and they've never been shown a path into program work.

- Current AHPRA registration and experience in the relevant therapy area
- Strong patient education and communication skills
- Comfort working autonomously, including by phone and telehealth
- Good documentation habits and an understanding of adverse event reporting
